China Tianchen Engineering Corporation Ltd. (abbreviated as "CNCEC‑TCC") was founded in 1953, formerly known as the First Design Institute under the Ministry of Chemical Industry of China. Relocated to Tianjin in 1973, TCC now operates as a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation Ltd.

Over the past 70 years, TCC has evolved into a world-class international engineering group with five core competencies: R&D, EPC general contracting, plant operation, international trade, and financing. TCC has successfully delivered more than 3,000 large‑ and medium‑sized projects covering technology development, consulting, design, construction, and full EPC services. It has served clients in over 40 countries and regions across China, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas, providing engineering solutions to more than 50 Fortune Global 500 companies. More than 300 of its projects and proprietary technologies have received national and provincial‑level awards.

TCC has been honored with the “National Labor Award”, “National Civilized Unit”, “Nomination of China Industrial Award”, and the title of “China’s Most Promising International Engineering Design Enterprise”.

Adhering to the development philosophy of “Always Staying Ahead”, TCC drives its growth through reform and innovation. In 1994, TCC became the first enterprise in China’s survey and design industry to obtain ISO 9001 certification. In 2002, it acquired ISO 14001 and GB/T 28001 certifications. In 2008, TCC was granted the National Class A Qualification by the Ministry of Housing and Urban‑Rural Development, authorizing design and EPC general contracting in 21 professional fields. In 2020, TCC was selected for the State Council’s “Science and Technology Reform Demonstration Action” and has been rated a benchmark enterprise three consecutive times. In 2023, TCC was designated by the State‑owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) as a demonstration enterprise for building a world‑class specialized and innovative enterprise.

TCC boasts strong innovation capabilities and hosts a nationally accredited enterprise technology center. To date, it has won more than 20 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, holds over 500 patents and proprietary technologies, and operates a leading R&D center and a postdoctoral research center. It has successfully developed a series of core technologies including multi‑nozzle coal water slurry pressurized gasification, green caprolactam, butadiene‑based adiponitrile, and hydrogen peroxide propylene oxide (HPPO).

Leveraging its technological and capital advantages, TCC began industrial investment and operation in 2012. Tianchen Yaolong was successfully commissioned in 2014, achieving the world’s largest single‑line production capacity with superior product quality (current optimized capacity: 350,000 tons per annum, retaining the world record for single‑line scale). In July 2022, Tianchen Qixiang was put into operation, realizing the domestic localization of adiponitrile technology and supporting the high‑end development of China’s nylon industry. The Tianchen Quanzhou project, based on fully independent intellectual property rights, is scheduled for completion and operation by the end of 2024.

To strengthen its full‑chain service capability covering “R&D, investment, construction, operation, and trading”, TCC established its trading subsidiary during the 13th Five‑Year Plan period, strongly supporting its diversified, R&D‑driven development strategy.
